A fellowship begins
Calvary’s first Sunday service was held on January 21 in the chapel of Eastern Mennonite Seminary. Fifty-five people attended that first gathering.

Our beginnings
Seeking harmony between belief and practice.
Calvary Mennonite Fellowship began in the Mt. Clinton community with a vision for a congregation where scriptural conviction and daily Christian practice belong together.
Through changing seasons, that desire has continued: to be a God-honoring, Christ-following fellowship and a stable spiritual home for those who worship here.
Milestones
More than three decades together.
A wider fellowship
Calvary became a charter member of Biblical Mennonite Alliance, connecting the congregation with other churches sharing similar convictions.
A permanent home
The congregation moved into the former Mt. Clinton public school building. That August, Calvary Christian Academy opened in the same building with 37 students.
Renewal through change
During a season of leadership transition, members stepped forward to sustain worship, ministry, and congregational life while a new structure was formed.
Rebuilding together
The congregation adopted a revised constitution and covenant, established its renewed leadership structure, and returned to a refurbished sanctuary.
A home restored
Extensive exterior renovation and landscaping were completed through shared work and generous giving, without leaving the congregation in debt.
Looking forward
“I will build my church.”
Calvary’s history closes with a continuing challenge: to discern where Christ is working and join him there.
